Involving parents in RSE

In 2023 the conversation around RSHE has been dominated by myths and misinformation, making pro-active parental engagement a priority for schools. This workshop with support you to communicate and engage confidently with parents about RSE in your setting and provide you with the evidence and resources needed to respond to parental concerns. Designed for members of SLT and RSHE and PSHE Leads in mainstream and SEND settings. This 90 minute workshop will support you to:

  • Know what is required in legislation in relation to parental involvement with RSE;
  • Using case studies, explore productive ways to engage with and inform parents about RSE provision in your school, including how to integrate children and young people’s feedback and voices in the process;
  • Become familiar with research evidence and how to use it to reduce barriers to parents engaging positively with RSE;
  • Develop strategies for sustaining regular involvement and communication with parents about RSE

How to take part: the webinar runs using zoom. Meeting ID and password will be emailed in advance.
