Part of a suite of specialist webinars for teachers of learners with SEND, these new 75-minute webinars each focus on a different aspect of delivering RSE in SEND settings, underpinned by a whole-school approach.
Talking about touch and consent with older learners, looking at the topic with a focused lens for secondary pupils and beyond
This webinar explores Consent and Touch for Older Learners and is ideal for SENCOs, RSE and PSHE subject leads, senior leaders with subject responsibility for the subject, and class teachers delivering RSE to learners with unique learning needs.
Facilitated by RSE Specialist and teacher Rachael Baker, participants will:
- Explore how to teach about touch and consent with older learners, including content about touching other’s bodies and our own, rules about privacy and how to say no.
- Discuss introducing the subject of sex and consent to sexual touch, considering how to approach the topic of giving and hearing consent to sexual activity, and how to identify when consent is not given.
- Explore appropriate touch, and share practical activities that can be used in the classroom to give learners robust guidelines and ways to navigate the topic of touch safely.
This webinar forms part of our range of SEND specialist CPD, supporting you to develop a curriculum that is age appropriate, needs led, differentiated and personalised. It is available as a book-on course, or commissioned in your own setting.
