Part of a suite of specialist webinars for teachers of learners with SEND, these new 75-minute webinars each focus on a different aspect of delivering RSE in SEND settings, underpinned by a whole-school approach.

Using distancing techniques such as characters, role play and social stories to enhance understanding of key concepts

This webinar explores using distancing techniques and is ideal for SENCOs, RSE and PSHE subject leads, senior leaders with subject responsibility for the subject, and class teachers delivering RSE to learners with unique learning needs.

Participants will:

- Explore ways to bring real life scenarios into your RSE lessons, using a range of methods including characters, social stories and role play techniques.

- Consider how to using characterisation and role play can support learners with additional needs to understand the nuances of social situations

- Develop confidence to use these distancing techniques in your classroom through creative activities and sharing best practice

This webinar forms part of our range of SEND specialist CPD, supporting you to develop a curriculum that is age appropriate, needs led, differentiated and personalised. It is available as a book-on course, or commissioned in your own setting.
