Teaching about FGM

One of a series of online webinars from the Sex Education Forum which will support the provision of high quality, statutory RSHE. The session will be facilitated by Sex Education Forum staff, with accompanying slides that will be sent to delegates afterwards. There will be opportunity to interact and ask questions.  The start time is 3.45pm to 5.00pm designed to fit around school day.  The session uses zoom.

This webinar focuses on teaching about FGM. It is ideal for teachers of RSHE at secondary level and also touches on primary. It will cover:

- What the statutory RSHE guidance says about FGM

- What children and young people need to learn about FGM

- Inclusion and safe classroom practice

- Tips on ‘how’ to teach about FGM

- Resources and references

Led by Sex Education Forum expert staff, participants will look at an example of a high quality resource and explore how to use it effectively. Webinar sessions are designed to enable networking, learning from peers and opportunities to ask questions.
