Yoan has been progressively connected with the Sex Education Forum since 2009 as a member, a partner, serving on the Advisory Group and now as a Trustee.
She is an independent RSE consultant with over 20 years of experience working in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Comprehensive Sexuality Education both domestically and internationally. Yoan spent her formative years in Denmark and is a certified midwife with experience in antenatal education. She is the founder of Teaching Lifeskills providing RSE and training in educational settings and the co-founder of OUTSPOKEN Sex Ed, a CIC promoting parental engagement in RSE.
Yoan’s recent MA in International Child Studies gave focus to parental needs for effective engagement in RSE politics, policy and practice to help develop children and young people’s learning at home. Her professional focus is projected towards a cultural change of how RSE is understood and embraced and how it develops from an early age to RSE as Life Long Learning for all.
Yoan became a Trustee of the Sex Education Forum in April 2021 and served as Deputy Chair until winter 2024.
