The Sex Education Forum believes that RSE should be taught by well-trained and supported teachers; and that external visitors can have a valuable role in enhancing the teaching and learning of RSE.
Our guidance document (published 2010) is designed to support teachers, school leaders, RSE leads, advisors and coordinators – as well as commissioners and external visitors themselves – in understanding how external visitors can best contribute to RSE.
It includes legal information, a section on 'roles', good practice case studies and ideas for involving children and young people.
