Foundation level course:
This one‑day course supports primary teachers and school leaders to prepare for the updated Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) statutory guidance, in place from September 2026, and to strengthen inclusive practice across the curriculum. It provides a structured opportunity to understand what is changing, reflect on current provision and build strong foundations for high‑quality RSHE that supports children’s wellbeing, safety and access to learning. The course uses clear examples and real classroom scenarios to support practical planning and confident delivery.
Why this course is important
The updated RSHE guidance introduces new content that can feel difficult to navigate alongside existing pressures on curriculum time and staff capacity. Many schools want clarity on what the changes mean for teaching, learning and policy writing, as well as reassurance about what can and should be taught both in the classroom and in partnership with parents and carers.
Increasing concerns about online safety, children’s mental wellbeing and behaviour in schools sit alongside expectations that RSHE supports children to understand relationships, boundaries and how to seek help. If children do not feel safe, included and understood, they are less likely to engage with learning. This course provides space to reflect on children’s perspectives and experiences and supports staff to plan RSHE that is clear, inclusive and appropriate, while placing safeguarding and accessibility at the centre of practice.
Alongside being packed with information relevant to your provision, this course serves as an opportunity to network, share ideas and trouble-shoot with colleagues from other schools, a reminder that you are never alone when navigating the challenges that come with teaching RSE.
Who this course is for
This Foundation course is designed for PSHE and RSE leads, primary teachers and senior leaders who are responsible for RSHE planning, policy or delivery. It is suitable for schools at different stages of development and for staff who want a clear and structured introduction to the updated guidance, with practical support to apply learning within their own setting.

How to take part
This is small group, interactive one day course is online via Zoom, with two short breaks in the morning and afternoon session and a break for lunch.
