SEND Settings

The Sex Education Forum offers specialist training for teachers and educators working with learners with special educational needs and disabilities, covering a broad range of aspects of delivering inclusive RSE.

The Government RSHE guidance 2025 stipulates that RSE must be accessible for all pupils, particularly learners with SEND. Our specialist SEND training will support you to deliver an inclusive, accessible and meaningful curriculum to your learners.

Delivered by qualified teachers and SEND specialists, our training gives teachers and educators working with learners with SEND the opportunity to explore what RSE means in SEND settings, to explore values, consider how to work with parents, and identify the particular considerations for delivering RSE in the SEND classroom.

Our courses are interactive, evidence based, and give educators the confidence to deliver quality, accessible and differentiated RSE to all learners.

INSET for schools

We know that teacher confidence is instrumental to delivering top quality RSE. Commission a day of INSET training for your staff to explore the evidence and rationale for the RSE guidance, teacher values, ways to differentiate, working with parents, and further topics informed by our discussions with you. Our commissioned training can be tailored to your setting and your staff and learner needs.

INSET training could comprise a full day for a group of 20 staff, or could feature shorter sessions for groups of teachers to attend on rotation. Talk to us about your setting, and the needs of your staff, and we will make a personalised recommendation.

Popular topics for school INSET include understanding the guidance and developing a spiral curriculum, public and private, and teaching about sex and sexual relationships with secondary learners.
