Young people's RSE poll 2018

27 November 2018

The Sex Education Forum, in partnership with the National Education Union (NEU) commissioned Censuswide to carry out a poll of 1000 young people aged 16 and 17 years old.

In total 1001 young people participated in the survey. Participants were either 16 years old or 17 years old. The survey ran between 23 October 2018 and 2 November 2018 and covered all 9 geographical regions in the UK.

The survey asked young people to rate the Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) they had received at school, and asked how effectively a range of topics had been covered. Young people were also asked to recommend changes to improve their RSE.

The poll is intended to benchmark the quality of RSE as the subject becomes statutory in schools in England by September 2020.
