Foundation Level Course:
Are you looking for practical ways to make RSE more accessible, engaging and meaningful for learners with SEND in your mainstream setting?
Why this course is important
Learners with SEND may need extra and require additional guidance on how to navigate friendships, understand boundaries, manage strong emotions, advocate for themselves, and know when and how to seek help. Developing a deeper understanding of neurodivergence and other forms of SEND can help educators create more accessible, safer learning environments where all young people can flourish. By exploring how SEND intersects with RSE, you'll gain practical approaches for breaking down complex topics, teaching key relationship skills, and creating inclusive spaces that promote emotional literacy, empathy, compassion and respect. While the course focuses on learners with SEND, the strategies and approaches explored have wide-reaching benefits for all young people and can contribute to a stronger whole-school approach that fosters belonging, prioritises wellbeing, and supports positive personal development.

Designed for RSHE/PSHE Leads, SENCOs, Pastoral Leads, DSLs, ELSAs, and teachers working in upper primary (Key Stage 2) and early secondary (Key Stage 3) mainstream settings and alternative provisions, this course will provide practical strategies to strengthen engagement, improve accessibility and empower young people to build healthy relationships and make safe, informed decisions.
